Michael McCarthy Bio

My journey began in 2006. I began a 6oo+ hour Therapeutic Massage training at Irene’s Myomosology Institute. Upon completion in 2007, I dove head first into the massage industry working for a Therapeutic spa for 6 months. Craving more creative freedom, I started my own massage business in Birmingham Mi where I am still established. In 2010, I took it to the next level as I traveled to Thailand and Studied Thai Massage for 5 months. I became a certified Thai Massage Teacher Through ITM school in Chiang Mai and studied under several different Thai Healing Masters including Chongkol Setthakorn began at Old Medicine hospital/owner of ITM, Paul Butte Thai Acupressure specialist, Adjan Nat Blind Thai Massage Master, to name a few. In June 2010, I returned to the states to practice and teach Thai Massage. This is where my life became amazing. In 2011, I completed Jonny Kests 200 hour Yoga Teacher Training program. Through this training, Jonny Kest and I formed a bond in which I began assisting his large yoga classes with my Thai Yoga Adjustments. Jonny invited me to several conferences with him, including Wanderlust 2012 in Tahoe where we co-taught 2 Thai Yin classes to several hundred people. I also taught a Thai Massage Class to a full capacity crowd. My journey has lead me into teaching Thai Massage Courses, Yoga Adjustments, Yoga and Therapeutic Massage Techniques around the Country. In 2013, I returned to Thailand to Study more Thai Healing Therapies including Tok Sen, Gua Sha and Thai Acupressure. I also did a 21-day Meditation/healing retreat in Northern Thailand that taught me many healing techniques. Recently, I taught Thai Massage and Yoga Adjustments to Psalm Isadoras Intesive teacher Training in Los Angeles. The Fusion of Thai Massage, Yoga and Energy work are limitless … This is My Journey

Thailand Recovered

As I've been in Thailand for about 2 weeks now, it seems that what u thought I was coming here for was not the case. This has already been an amazing learning experience and taking me closer in the direction of my calling. To be a person that helps others, I must always be working on myself. Things change, people change, places change and it's the Change that is the challenge for many of us. I am completely throwing myself in the fire and taking risks beyond belief here. Meeting people, learning new things, traveling new places and becoming closer with the original reason I took on helping others. And that is simply this, I love helping people heal.

Tantra Vinyasa Yoga Conference

Morning alarm rang early with coffee In the air. Yoga, sex, feminism and hint of excitement for all coming. It's about the connection between people from different backgrounds, geographical areas, religions and lifestyles. We come separate and combine energy into one without losing our individuality. This weekend is a chance for me to look even deeper than ever before.

Life comes fast. Slow down, meditate and look inside. We know what's best for us. Feel it, live it, embody it. Take that undying passion. and turn it into tangible love

More Fun stuff in the Mix

Adding more workshops everyday, so stoked. My friend Karen Fox owner of The Yoga Center in Carmel Indiana has invited me down on June 14th to teach a Thai Massage Adjustment workshop and June 16th to teach a Thai Vinyasa class with Karen. I am finding a second home in Carmel! The people are so friendly and seem to be open to what im bringing. Truly a strong yoga community with passionate students. I have a feeling there will be many more workshops in the future at TYC Indiana!

After assisting Jonny Kest's 9:45 Vinyasa this morning at the Center for Yoga in Birmingham, something hit me hard. To give something beautiful away and expect nothing in return has taught me true humility.

Facilitate, share & give.

Back on the Blog Kick

Its been quite a long time since i've blogged any of my journeys. Lately, so many things have changed in my life all resulting from doing a Yoga Teacher Training at the Center for Yoga from last Sept to Nov. Countless doors have opened and numerous connections. From a yoga retreat in Miami with Justin Barnes and Gail Mondry, several workshops for Karen Fox at the Yoga Center in Carmel Indiana, assisting Jonny Kest and Raina at the Center for Yoga, doing Thai Massage at the Midwest Yoga Conference and so many more amazing experiences to list. I have decided to start blogging about each life experience as they come. Including my Thai Massage Course in Miami in July and Thai Massage workshop at Wanderlust in Squaw valley and a Class with Joony Kest that has hundreds of people already signed up. Grateful is not a strong enough word for how im feeling.

Today, as i outline my schedule for the next 6 months I have decided to go to Thailand in August for 3 weeks to continue training and travel to my place on Earth. Overwhelmed with joy and excitement for the present moment and everything else to follow. Thank you all for the shared love and support. Im so happy to connect with so many amazing souls on similar paths. Share Ruthlessly Yogi's.
