Michael McCarthy Bio

My journey began in 2006. I began a 6oo+ hour Therapeutic Massage training at Irene’s Myomosology Institute. Upon completion in 2007, I dove head first into the massage industry working for a Therapeutic spa for 6 months. Craving more creative freedom, I started my own massage business in Birmingham Mi where I am still established. In 2010, I took it to the next level as I traveled to Thailand and Studied Thai Massage for 5 months. I became a certified Thai Massage Teacher Through ITM school in Chiang Mai and studied under several different Thai Healing Masters including Chongkol Setthakorn began at Old Medicine hospital/owner of ITM, Paul Butte Thai Acupressure specialist, Adjan Nat Blind Thai Massage Master, to name a few. In June 2010, I returned to the states to practice and teach Thai Massage. This is where my life became amazing. In 2011, I completed Jonny Kests 200 hour Yoga Teacher Training program. Through this training, Jonny Kest and I formed a bond in which I began assisting his large yoga classes with my Thai Yoga Adjustments. Jonny invited me to several conferences with him, including Wanderlust 2012 in Tahoe where we co-taught 2 Thai Yin classes to several hundred people. I also taught a Thai Massage Class to a full capacity crowd. My journey has lead me into teaching Thai Massage Courses, Yoga Adjustments, Yoga and Therapeutic Massage Techniques around the Country. In 2013, I returned to Thailand to Study more Thai Healing Therapies including Tok Sen, Gua Sha and Thai Acupressure. I also did a 21-day Meditation/healing retreat in Northern Thailand that taught me many healing techniques. Recently, I taught Thai Massage and Yoga Adjustments to Psalm Isadoras Intesive teacher Training in Los Angeles. The Fusion of Thai Massage, Yoga and Energy work are limitless … This is My Journey

Thailand Recovered

As I've been in Thailand for about 2 weeks now, it seems that what u thought I was coming here for was not the case. This has already been an amazing learning experience and taking me closer in the direction of my calling. To be a person that helps others, I must always be working on myself. Things change, people change, places change and it's the Change that is the challenge for many of us. I am completely throwing myself in the fire and taking risks beyond belief here. Meeting people, learning new things, traveling new places and becoming closer with the original reason I took on helping others. And that is simply this, I love helping people heal.
